Ext. HDD to Nintendo Wii?

ok since i can't seem to find a clear cut answer, can i watch movies from an external hard drive on a wii? Yes, i know the console will not read NTFS format, neither will xbox which is why the hard drive is in FAT32. my girlfriend has the wii and i'm trying to find out before i go over there if it will let me play movies from a FAT32 hard drive.
