How do i enable ipod fuction on JVC KD-S33?

I have a manual, but it is like chineese to me. the manual says to turn on EXT In, but I don't know how. Do I push mode, then #6. Push SRC *6. I'm lost. I have the IPOD conected with an interface cable.
