Installing xp pro on netbook issues...help?

I have made an xp pro installation cd using imgburn and tested it using virtualbox. it worked perfectly on virtualbox(the computer with virtualbox is windows vista 32 bit). but the netbook (which has xp on it but need to be redone) has no cd drive so i borrowed a friends external drive. the pc has the option to boot from disk and does start up windows setup. after it say windows is starting up on the bottom of the screen after the initial 5 minutes of using the disk i get the blue screen saying it has to shut down in fear of having a virus or some other bad stuff that was going on and tells me to restart. one piece of info that might cause this is I forgot to pick up the 5v power supply to the ext. cd drive from my friends. so its only connected through usb port. so my question is, is it possibly not working because it needs to have its power supply even though it seems to read the disc fine for about the first five minutes? (even the light on the ext. drive was flashing as it should) is there something else that could be causing this issue? thanks for the help and im sorry for the rough draft but im kind of in a hurry.

Vista fails to recognize ext HDD?

ughhh, i have no idea how to explain this. When you start the car, it starts. But then this fuzzy noise starts ringing right after i start the vehicle. It's not the plates, it's the cutlery. A tiny bit of metal comes off the utensil and marks the plate. Same thing happens to porcelain sinks when you put metal utensils in them, and to toilet bowls if you use a toilet brush that is worn enough that the metal interior of the brush scrapes the porcelain. I don't know why it happens to some materials but not others. I've never had it happen to dinner plates.

My Mini Schnauzer has really bad separation anxiety. What more can I do?

I have a 7 month old Mini Schnauzer. He's always had really bad separation anxiety since day one and he's only got slightly better recently. I know I'm to blame as when we first got him, I was at home studying a lot and we never really left him for more than 2 hours max. In those 2 hours, he would howl loudly throughout the entire time (we record him every time we leave) and for that reason, I would try my best not to leave him at all (which obviously hasn't helped)! Now we're at a point where I need to be able to leave him. I have a 4 hour a day job (which I got on purpose so I wouldn't have to leave him for too long). This is what we have tried in order to help his anxiety: aromatherapy diffuser, TV/music, Kong's, putting our coats on/picking up keys then sitting down or taking them off/putting them down again etc (we did this over a few days but didn't seem to help), we've tried him in his crate/out of his crate, we don't make a fuss when we leave or return, we've even watched him on skype while we sit in the car and make distracting noises every time he's about to howl. This is our current routine which seems so minimise his howling: I take him for a run in the fields to wear him out a bit, then get ready for work before siting in the living room, I then exchange his toys for some toys he hasn't played with for a while, put some classical music on, sit with him for a while longer (without fussing with him) then quietly leave. Most of the time he howls so loudly that he loses his voice! I don't know what else I can do, this is ruining my life!!!!

Ok, so i recently installed apple on an external HDD (with a PC - hence hackintosh) i every time i reboot the 2nd time after install it fails to boot, so i have done software updates and have looked around, i went to system preferences and startup disk, and it doesn't seem to have detected the mac startup disk which i boot from (i.e. the external HDD). How can i link it to my ext. HDD so i can boot up?

Fixing headset? will this work?

I have a turtle beach earforce x 11 headset for xbox360. The wires were cut clean in half near the actual headset, so If i cant fix it they are junk. If I strip the wires a bit, and then find each individual wireset (there are 4 wires (each surrounded in copper) in the black coating) and sauter them together individually, will they work? or should I do something like splice each one with a dual connector? the problem with that is the bundle would be HUGE compared to normal, but if it works is that a possibility? Corgi's are medium to high energy but not hyper. As long as you give them 2-3 walks per day as well as a little mental stimulation, their pretty calm. They only usually bark when their supposed to so that's usually not a problem. They do however shed like crazy. They blow their coat 2x a year then shed pretty heavily all year long. ANY double coated dog sheds a lot. Not sure about the springer or the shiba but if you don't want to deal with any shedding, don't get a corgi.

Okay, so I'm 16 and I'll be a Junior in High school this school year. So my parents have been together for 11 years. My Dad adopted me when he married my mom. So my relationship with my "Dad" has never been that good. When in reality I'm not the one who's accused my mother of cheating and then threw a freakin yogurt at her "for her yeast infection" wtf is that about. My Mom tells him shes had enough and she deserves to be happy and all that, but then the n ext day my dad sweetens her up and all that and then its like that big blow up never even happened. But then a few weeks later it happens again, my dad refuses to go to a counselor and even a pastor for marriage help, and i feel everyone would be happier if they weren't together. Plus (i've even told my mom this) i don't see any affection from any of them to each-other anymore. Help with painting my nails?

I have started to do my nails more often now and I have noticed that my right index finger always smears in the first few hours of having painted nails. I let the color dry then apply top coat. My Goldfish had swimbladder?

Around 11pm last night i noticed my goldfish swimming upside down in its tank, so i assumed it was dead, i went over and seen it was still moving its mouth, so i tapped the tank and it swam down, but then floated up, due to not knowing it had swim bladder, i thought he was just dying, and this was normal, but the ext morning he was the same, so i found it it was Swim bladder. So i went to the pet store to get some stuff, i came back and he now seems fine, is it normal for them to recover this fast? or is it something else that is wrong?

So I just had a blood test done because I've had symptoms such as cold sweats, white coating on tongue with bumps, headache, body aches and pains, nausea, swollen lymph node in neck, easy bruising, UTI....the results came back and they said all they tested for was normal except my mono test which said I've had mono in the past and my blood count was a little elevated meaning I have some sort of infection.... I'm just wondering if it's leukemia and they dont know cuz they didn't test for that or if I had leukemia would they have seen it while testing for other things? I'm just scared outta my mind cuz I'm a hypochondriac becuz I'm finding these little dots on mostly my legs that look like freckles but I don't remember having them before....someone help ;) thnx

Fur loss and discoloration in pug?

I have a 10 year old black pug and recently his fur has been turning a lighter hue and coming off in massive clumps. It's not his whole coat, just random patches throughout - mainly near his rear legs and collar. Hello, I have two bearded dragons, they are around the same age, but one is growing RAPIDLY over the other one, the other one is still only 6 inches, and the bigger one is atleast 12 inches now. Can I get rid of yarn fuzz in my knitting project?

I bought some Lion Brand 100 percent wool yarn because I love the color and I want to knit a special scarf with it. I'm a new knitter, and I had never used wool or Lion brand yarn before. I'm trying to make a scarf with a pattern on it. The problem is, the yarn is coming out fuzzy as I knit. It's like there's this coating of fuzz all over my scarf and it looks so ugly. A plain boring field sounds like the perfect place to take your dog. Maybe you could take a Frisbee or tennis ball along or something. If the heat is a problem, you could do it early in the morning or wait until the sun is setting. Also, you could read. There are tons of great books out there. If you can't buy them, go to a library. I have had diarrhea for a week now that has been through a few stages. First stage was very bad abdominal pain and mushy mucus semi bloody stool. Then it was just mucus and blood. Will my bala shark be okay?

Hi. I have a bala shark that I've had for about 9 months. Well on Sunday I changed the decor and the gravel in my 56 gallon tank and put all of my fish into a big container. I would rinse some of the gravel and when I put it into the tank I would check the fish to make sure they were okay. When I came back to check on them(maybe 5 minutes or so) my poor bala was on the floor..I freaked out and my husband came and put him back into the water. He sat for a second then swam a bit but mostly just sat at the bottom of the container I'm sure out of shock. Within a day I noticed his eyes becoming white and hazy and his breathing had slowed down. I put melafix into the tank and added some extra salt to calm him and get his protective coating back. We got the hospital tank set up and ready for him and he's been in there swimming around like normal but now he seems to be resting. The poor guy has lost half of his back fins and he can't see which means he can't eat. I feel so bad for him he's already been through so much. He had hemmorogic septicemia and the other fish tore his fins up so bad he couldn't swim..but we fixed him right up and he had never been better. So I'm pretty upset that he has to go though this. Sorry I'm rambling on and on I just don't know what else to do for him...the water perimeters in both tanks are great and my other fish are doing fantastic. But my bala was one of my first fish. Can anyone tell me if he will be able to see again and how long it will take for his tail fins to grow back? If he will ever be able to eat again. Oh and also if there may have been brain damage..he was out of the water for probably about 5 minutes. We must conform to what world says is normal. 200 years ago people were to busy trying to survive to be anxious or depressed. The hyper active ones and the impulsive ones were the split-second do'ers that lived to see another day. Now, in 2011 we, as a people have become spoiled and complacent and bored. We have central heat and air, and the 1$ menu from Mc Donald's. Our primal instincts search for challenges and finds little. Here in lies the development of depression and anxiety and ext. Lets add to that, pre packaged food and preservatives and pesticides, ext. If you cannot conform to "normal" then you medicate ad psycho- analyze, beginning at about 1st grade. There is really nothing inherently wrong with these adhd kids. Children aren't meant to sit still for hours at a time They all have there own wonderful personalities and yes some are constantly bouncing around while others might daydream. Society has created a mold that we all must fit into. We must medicate in order to be part of our community. What side are you on? All opinions are welcome.

I don't know who told you you couldn't wrap edges with formica, but you can. In fact you're supposed to finish a laminate job with the edges in the same material as the top. They sell pre-made edges already that you just apply with an iron or you can rip and glue your own formica strips to the edges then simply trim the excess with a router or zip saw for a nice smooth edge.

Why is my dog itching so much lately?

I just got a new addition to the family. A australian shepherd mix. I just got him last sunday on fathers day. Just the caliper paint, and clean calipers and drums (or new drums, if they're close to needing changing anyway) for the best results, a primer won't work. I'd recommend paint rather than a spray can as it's far easier to get it exactly where you want it, and only where you want it. My parents won't let my dog come inside?

My parents won't let my dog come inside. She is outside all the time because she is not potty trained. She is a adult female and gets all the proper care and attention. She is played with CONSTANTLY and is often accompanied with the neighbors dogs as they get along great and love to play and chase each other. I have told them I know how to properly potty train a adult female. She is stubborn and when we tried before it did not work. She is kept warm in the winter, and gets her thick coat trimmed in the summer. In the winter we make sure her water does not freeze over and everything. Plus she has a nice shelter to go in under when she wants to nap, or get away from the weather. Is this okay? And if it is not any way for me to convince them to let her come in?

I don't know what you mean by tone necessarily, I mean its a very dark song. The theme is about sexual assault though, and overcoming it. Tori based it off of her own experience with rape. I have a Yorkie that will be 1 year in a few weeks. I have been feeding her Royal Canin since she was about 4 months. She doesn't like it. Then on June 14th I had unprotected sex once again and I had bleeding but it was a little bit heavier then before. (the same guy both of these times) On about Saturday June 18th I started getting this weird itchy feeling right on the outside of low places and directly to the inside but it wasn’t bad so I blew it off as nothing. Then on June 20th I had sex again, (not the other partner) but I still had light spotting, and part of the time it was protected and the rest was not (we tried anal unprotected then right away went back to v*ginal…and I hear that you can spread bacteria doing that) Ok so afterwards I had pretty heavy bleeding and the itching increased some so I was thinking maybe irritation or maybe allergic to latex, but I kind of ruled those out. So the next day the itching was pretty bad, the area looked very red, started burning, more frequent urination and still had bleeding which was pretty heavy. I have very irregular periods but this isn’t like a period. Anyways, so my mom got me this cream (she doesn’t know I’ve been having sex) that treats yeast infections but I haven’t noticed much of a difference. I’ve still been feeling tired, nauseated, headaches, pain in my abdomen, and sore boobs. I started looking things up about Trich and yeast infections…and it almost seems like I have all the symptoms for Trich and my friend said I sound like I may be pregnant. I’m not asking for sympathy at all or a for sure diagnosis but I’m curious what others think. If things don’t start getting better soon I AM going to the doctor and I guess I’ll go from there…but honestly I’m terrified.

Bad Reaction to Donating Blood?

Yesterday was my school's blood drive. I gave blood for the first time last year and I was fine. I only had a bit of headache but that was it. This year I gave some and before hand I had some Famous Amos cookies and some water just to get something in me. I gave blood and my Iron was perfect and I felt fine during the process of giving blood and after. I left after I had a cookie and some water and started to walk to my locker then my class. I got to my locker and I felt dizzy. I started to the stairs and I suddenly felt really faint. I know that sometimes people faint after giving blood but I thought I just needed to sit down. By the time I got to class, I felt like I was going to pass out. My teacher said I looked pale. I a naturally pale person so I guess I got paler. I felt a little better after I sat down but then I had to go my next class. I always walk with my friend to her locker then to class because she needs her book. I got to her locker and I felt much worse than I did earlier. I had really spotted vision and I couldn't really answer her when she would talk to me. I was processing stuff really slow. I had to go back upstairs and I barely made it to my seat in class. I couldn't keep my head up and I felt cold and then hot. I had a bad hot flash and had beads of sweat on my forehead. My skin looked yellow to because I got so pale. I ended up going to the nurse and got some grape juice and some pretzels and felt somewhat better.I ended up going home because I couldn't walk from class to class without those side effects spiking back up again. The next day (today) I feel better but I feel super sluggish. I get pretty bad vertigo when I get up and I've been freezing all day. Also I'm getting out of breath from just going up the stairs and my heart is beating hard and fast. I've been eating proteins and drinking juice but I'm not feeling better. So I'm just wondering what to do. Should I be concerned? Or should I just wait it out? Replies would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I'm a 16 year old girl, i was diagnose with Scoliosis in 07 i had surgery in 09 for it . So my docter told me i no horse playin ext. , but i horse play anyway, i dance really hard i had two falls since my surgery and my BACK NEVER HURTS . i have rods in my back i cant feel a thang . is it normal? am i just bless? . and i can sit in any position w/o back pain. . .wow maraculous huh

Metal cufflinks in the oven to set the fimo middle? Bad Idea or will it be okay?

I'm making cufflinks for my friend so I've got plain cufflinks with a lip around the edge so I can press the fimo/modeling clay into the middle and then paint on it and such but the fimo has so go into the oven to set and there's no way I can set them on their own because it's way too thin and would crack or would be too fiddly to handle once baked. So what i'm asking is, do you think the metal cufflinks would be harmed if they went into the oven? I'm pretty sure they're just a silver coated metal too, thanks, Cathy x

Hi I was fired on the friday after the huge tornados sweep across my neighbor Hood I have 4 days and nights with out any power and then 3 more were shorts in the lines in the neighborhood would cause the power to go out serval times a day or night caused me to be late for work twice that week once on thursday by 36 mins and then by time I realized I have over slept on friday I had a termination notice in my email with in an hour of my start time of my schedule shift. My employer was full aware that i live right in the effected area and did inform him that I may be late untill all the power had been fixed I had worked for this compnay for over 2 years and the first 18 month there were zero attendance issues, during the last 6 months I had started dealing with mental health issues for manic depression and bi-polar disorder my company is less then 50 employees so FMLA did not apply and my employer was very well aware of my situation, as what kicked it off was a week in the hospital over christams for a fail suicide attempt. Over the next few months I had been late a few times or called in but always called in to report what was going on and always provided a doctors note when asked for one. The compnay's policy on tardiness and missing work is very gary and states that corrective action and situations are handled on a case by case situation. I worried that im gooing to not get my unemployment beifits the tardness that lead to my firing was out of my control due to all my family live up north. and the intermitted power surges in the neighbor. My employeer also mentioned that when i had an ext interview with him that he would be willing to re-hirer me in a few months or so when i have my mental health issues figured out and undercontrol. If i have to apeal this should i meantion that or was path should i go down to defend my self.

Is it ok to use my charger now?

Ok so a couple of weeks ago i began having trouble with my toshiba 120 watt ac adapter charger. I would have to position the prong a certain way in order for it to take a charge. and then smelled burning plastic. I took it up to geek squad and they i needed a new dc jack (charger port) and proably a new charger totalling up to almost 300 hundred dollars. i hadnt used my charger for 2 weeks and left i unplug and my computer completely off and today i decided to test it out again. I plugged in the charger and i didnt have to position it a certain way and ive been monitoring the coating around the prong to see if its getting extremely hot like it had been. i dont not smell the burning scent anymore and the charger is at best warm. Its normal and its charging. is this some technical fluke/miracle and im all set to use my charger or is it doing more damage?

Well what you can do is you can put GOD (in a silhouette) behind a curtain overlooking the Pearly Gates with clouds, add some lighting if you can plus and audience of people holding a bible and put in big bright letters "Prepare to meet your God". Oh and another thing you can do is what production companies do in live studio audience recordings of sitcoms. They have that sign in the ceiling that lights up and says "Applause". Sims 3 wont download HELP !?

So I brought my Sims 3 game from home to my cousins house in case I got bored while I was there. Everything was going good, I put the game in and it began downloading ext. So we decided to make a quick run to the store while it downloaded. When I returned the game wouldn't work. So I thought I could uninstall it and then Download it all over. After thinking I uninstalled it, I shut off the computer and cut it back on to Re-Download. Now when I put the disk in it continues to ask me "Do you want to remove all content of the game" Over and Over. So basicly, the game wont uninstall So that I would start over and Download it over. How heavy a rider can a horse carry?

also know as "horse size vs. rider size part 2". And I'm fearing I may need my flame retardant over-coat for this one :-( Anyway, I used to ride, I loved to ride, and then I gained a lot of weight. A lot. Now I'm scared to ride for fear I'll cause undo stress on the horse. I really want to ride again - *sigh* - maybe that will help me diet. Shedding on a flat-coated cockapoo?

I recently got a 12-week old flat-coated cockapoo from a cockapoo breeder (from whom I also got my other very low-shed curly cockapoo who is now 11-months old ). I understand breeders cannot guarantee their puppies' coats and temperaments. I also understand that a flat-coated cockapoo must have taken more traits from the shedding cocker spaniel side rather than the non-shed poodle side. But my new flat-coated cockapoo is shedding like crazy. A groomer told me (and the vet confirmed) that the dog might just be nervous or anxious because I just got her a week ago. Can anyone share with me their expert knowledge on why a dog in general (regardless of the breed) might be shedding? Do most shedding breeds shed more in the summer months? I plan to ask the vet for more possible causes of this shedding when we go back for the puppy's next scheduled vaccination shots. For now, I am using the Furminator daily on her to reduce the shedding and it does somehow help but the shedding continues anyhow. Any other 'treatments' you can recommend for my new pup? She is a very beautiful, sweet, gentle yet spunky, easily trainable little pup and I hate to just give her up simply on the basis of her coat-shedding. I do not 'judge' nor 'reject' people based on their physical characteristics and I do not want to do that to this puppy.
